P&C News

Welcome to the homepage of the Taree High School Parents and Citizens Association

Thanks to all for your support: the P&C is most grateful for the help with our various activities, and we are looking forward to 2014 as we gather the collective energies of the THS students, staff and P&C supporters!

Would you like to get involved?

There are a number of ways YOU can get involved in school:

  • Coming along to P&C meetings
  • Supporting your School Canteen helps raise funds for school projects
  • Attending Parent-Teacher meetings supports both your student and the school
  • Would you like to join our P&C email list? - great way to keep up with the activity of the P&C if you can't make the meetings - just send an email to thspandc@gmail.com.au to be added to the list

What is the focus of P&C meetings at Taree High?

Our P&C brings the school community together. Parents, teachers and community members can help meet the needs of the school community and contribute to decisions about the school. In 2012/13 our actions saw investment in a range of school projects, including installing a digital noticeboard on the School Hall, improving the security in the school canteen, working with others to fund and build a new trailer to transport livestock, encouraging recycling with ‘vintage uniforms', and getting the weGROW school-community garden off the ground.

P&C Meetings

The P&C meetings are held regularly. We try for monthly on the 4th Tuesday of the month, from 5 - 7pm in the school library. Occasionally other events (school holidays, etc) interfere with that schedule. We've tried a few different formats over the years. YOUR ideas are most welcome.

We occasionally take the meeting "on tour" to look at different venues and facilities in the school - check on this page for the location of the next meeting.

The AGM this year coincides with the Years 7 & 11 Parent/Teacher evening on Tuesday 25th March and will begin at 5:30pm in the Staff Common Room in the top of A Block...look for the signs. Everyone is welcome.
