Library

Taree High School library is a welcoming space that promotes inclusive learning and caters for all students of all abilities. The library supports students academically and socially in readiness for life after school and offers access to a diverse range of resources to enrich teaching and learning across the curriculum.

Library Hours

The library is open from 8am until 3.30pm Monday to Friday including recess and lunch. The library has space and technology for two classes as well as small rooms for meetings and a First Aid room.

Accessing the catalogue

Students can access the catalogue by selecting the “My School library (Oliver)” app in the student portal.

Online resources

From the Oliver catalogue homepage, students can easily access online resources that the library subscribes to: WorldBookOnline, Ancient History database, Modern History database, ClickView, and a digital edition of Sydney Morning Herald.  Students can also access a full catalogue of the physical resources in our library.

Information Literacy

Taree High School library aims to cultivate an environment of responsible information usage and awareness of the principles of acknowledging other people’s work.

Fiction

The library supports reading for pleasure and has an excellent collection of new release fiction for all ages as well as Manga, Graphic novels and picture books.

The importance of reading is valued and enhanced by the Accelerated Reader program in Year 7.

Events

The library hosts many activities and events including visiting authors, book clubs, and themed trivia events. We showcase student artwork and displays, and cater for distance education and Aurora College.
